Disney Plus accidentally leaks She-Hulk 2022 release date

While we know She-Hulk is set to arrive on Disney Plus in 2022, we haven’t received a specific date yet. Previous rumors had it in August, but a new leak from the official Disney Plus UK site has given us an exact date: August 17, 2022.

For some reason, the date, which has yet to be announced, is just listed alongside other past, present, and future Marvel series on this blog here (at least as of this writing). One weird thing is that Moon Knight is completely missing from the page, but yes, this is an official website, so the August date should carry some weight unless changed. It also only lists Secret Invasion and Ironheart as future series, while we know more are coming too, like the standalone Echo series and a Wakanda-based show.

As for She-Hulk herself, we also get this official series description, which more or less matches the comics:

“This new comedy series sees Bruce Banner help his cousin, Jennifer Walters, when she needs an emergency blood transfusion and guess what? She also receives her powers. Tatiana Maslany will play Jennifer, who is a lawyer specializing in superhuman-focused legal cases. Mark Ruffalo returns as the Hulk alongside Tim Roth, who plays the Abomination.

I guess it was already announced months ago, but I didn’t realize that Tim Roth was returning as the Abomination, reprising his role from Ed Norton’s movie Hulk which is technically part of the MCU, even though Bruce Banner was recast with Mark Ruffalo. Also on the show is Jameela Jamil from The Good Place, who I believe plays some sort of villain.

We’ve yet to see more than tiny clips of She-Hulk in the Disney Plus preview materials. Right now they’re focusing on Ms. Marvel, which has plenty of trailers and debuts on June 8th. It will actually overlap with Obi-Wan, so Disney Plus will have a high Marvel profile and Star Wars series aired at the same time. Expect more of this in the future as Disney Plus ramps up its content production. We’re a long way from the year that only The Mandalorian came out.

I am extremely curious to see what Tatiana Maslany looks like in her green form. I guess like Ruffalo’s Hulk there will be a certain amount of CG and motion capture, because Maslany isn’t exactly a massively tall actress, even though She-Hulk isn’t usually as inhumanly huge as Bruce’s Hulk in most cases.

With that date only three months away, hopefully we’ll see more soon.
