The cast of don’t worry baby – well, most of the cast – got dressed on Monday night for a screening and to discuss the much-discussed film with a Q&A before it hits theaters September 23.

Director and star star Olivia Wilde, as well as actors Harry Styles, Gemma Chan, Nick Kroll, Sydney Chandler, Kate Berlant, Asif Ali, Douglas Smith and Dita Von Teese appeared at 13 AMC Lincoln Square in New York City during an event broadcast in theaters by the whole country. While actors Florence Pugh and Chris Pine were not expected, many venues sold out.

Pugh, who is rumored to have had a falling out with Wilde, has skipped press events before. Wilde explained that Pugh is busy with the upcoming Dune sequel, but Pugh has publicly criticized the way the film is marketed, fueling rumors of a feud.

For some reason, Pugh and other cast members were not part of the film’s premiere on Friday at the 70th San Sebastian International Film Festival, where Wilde wore a dazzling, backless emerald green dress by Valentino. So the smart book director was the only representative of the film there.

The whole cast did join Wilde when don’t worry baby was screened at the Venice Film Festival on September 5. However, Pugh was not present at a press conference or photo interview beforehand and the women remained separate on the red carpet.

Wilde then responded to stories about unrest on set.

“As for all the endless gossip and all the noise out there, I mean, the internet feeds itself,” she said. “I don’t feel the need to contribute. I think it’s nourished enough.” For what it’s worth, Wilde raved about the “ruthlessly talented” Pugh in a magazine interview earlier this month.

While the film received a five-minute standing ovation in Venice, even that event was accompanied by drama, after images of Styles appearing to spit on Pine went viral. Both Styles and Pine denied that spitting had happened.

According to rolling stone, two production sources said the issues between the women started around the same time that Wilde and Styles started dating in 2020. Two other sources told the magazine that the rumors were unfounded. “Do I think she and Flo hate each other? Absolutely not. Was it fun and enjoyable on set? Absolutely.” said a source. “Goods [Wilde and Styles overtly] romantic, or did she prefer him? No. She was very professional.”

The film will premiere everywhere on Friday.
