The most disturbing aspect of Apple TV+’s new limited series is that it’s based on real events.
The streamer posted a first look at Wednesday Five days at the Memorialbased on the 2013 book of the same name by journalist Sheri Fink, which takes viewers to a New Orleans hospital in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

“As floodwaters rose, power went out and heat soared, exhausted caregivers at a New Orleans hospital were forced to make decisions that would follow them for years,” reads the official login line for the project.
The first three episodes of Five days at the Memorial will arrive on Friday, August 12. A new episode will then debut every Friday until September 16.
Carlton Cuse (Lost) and John Ridley (American crime) are executive producers and writers on the limited series, directing alongside Wendey Stanzler (For all mankind). The eight-episode event stars Vera Farmiga (Hawk Eye), Robert Pine (Fries), Cherry Jones (Succession), Julie Ann Emery (You better call Saul), Cornelius Smith Jr (Scandal), Adepero Oduye (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier), Molly Hager (Joyful), Michel Gaston (Leftovers) and W. Earl Brown (dead wood).
