Horror footage captures the aftermath of a terrifying building explosion


EIGHT people were seriously injured after an explosion at a Chicago building caught on camera.

The collapse occurred around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

Deputy Fire Commissioner Marc Ferman said eight people were hospitalized after the explosion.

Those hospitalized suffered injuries ranging from burns to more traumatic wounds, Ferman said.

According to Ferman, one of the victims was across the street when the explosion happened.

“We do not know what caused this incident. It is still under investigation,” he said.

After the explosion, there was rubble on the street.

The collapsed building numbered about 35 units.

It is not yet clear how many residents were evacuated as a result of the explosion.
