Wellington Firebirds all-rounder Rachin Ravindra became the youngest New Zealand Test debutant since Ish Sodhi (Bangladesh, 2013), when New Zealand was invited to take part in the first Test against India in Kanpur. The 22-year-old will wear test cap number 282 and bat at seven on a strong bowling team with Ajaz Patel, Will Somerville and point guard Tim Southee and Kyle Jamieson. Ravindra was handed his test cap by his Firebirds teammate Tom Blundell, who took over the test wicket goalie gloves after BJ Watling retired.
