Jobs are back baby, but maybe not your job

The US finally has as many jobs as it did before the pandemic hit. In the end, many of them may not be in the right place.

The Labor Department reported Friday that the economy added seasonally adjusted 528,000 jobs in July from a month earlier — far more than the 258,000 economists had expected. With that, the job losses caused by the Covid-19 crisis have finally been wiped out: there were 32,000 more jobs in July than in February 2020. Similarly, the unemployment rate fell from 3.6% to 3.5%, marking a return to the multi-decade. low it was just before the pandemic.
