pokemon goCommunity Day in October features none other than Litwick, the candlefire and ghostly Pokémon.
On October 15th from 2pm to 5pm in your local time, Litwick will spawn in large numbers and you can easily grab a Shiny Litwick. The Shiny, which has a blue flame instead of a purple one, is literally the perfect Halloween Pokémon because of the beautiful orange Shiny it gets when fully evolved.
During the event, the XP for catching Pokémon is tripled and the candy for catching Pokémon is doubled. The annual Pokémon Go Halloween event also usually doubles the candy catch (as it should, for Halloween), but we’re not sure if the event will overlap with Community Day or if the potential candy bonus will stack up.
Additionally, developing your Lampent (Litwick’s evolution) in a Chandelure from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM in your local time will teach it the charged attack “Poltergeist”. It’s a little early to decide whether or not this move will be meta-determining, but Chandelure is already a very powerful Pokémon in both its ghost and fire types, so you should definitely plan to stock up anyway .
Lampent needs a Unova Stone to evolve into Chandelure, so you should try to save the stone you have until the event. In the past, Niantic has included short research tasks that reward them so you don’t get stuck and evolve your critter, although we can’t confirm if the game will have one for Litwick Community Day.
pokemon go players have been waiting for this cute candle Pokemon to come into the limelight because it meets the basic criteria of a Community Day creature: it evolves twice and is powerful.
