A man has been arrested on murder charges in connection with a deadly shooting outside a Far East bar early Sunday morning, El Paso police said Monday.
Alexander Diaz, 26, was taken into custody on Sunday by the US Marshal’s Lone Star Fugitive Task Force following an investigation by the Crimes Against Persons Unit of the El Paso Police Department, authorities said.
Diaz is charged with shooting 35-year-old Christopher Ryan Correa multiple times with a rifle in a murder captured by a security camera, police said.
The shooting happened around 2:20 a.m. behind the 10-4 Oyster Pub at 12275 Pellicano Drive next to Bob Hope Drive near Americas High School.
Detectives have obtained surveillance video showing a man, later identified as Diaz, exiting the passenger side of a car with a rifle and walking towards Correa, shooting him multiple times, police said in a news statement.

Correa was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Investigators later identified Diaz as the alleged gunman in the video and a warrant was issued for murder.
A possible motive for the shooting has not been disclosed.

Diaz, from the Lower Valley, is imprisoned under $1,000,000 bail at the El Paso County Jail in Downtown.
The shooting was one of two homicides in the El Paso area last weekend. Both resulted in quick arrests. El Paso County Sheriff’s Detectives have arrested a man accused of fatally stabbing his brother during a fight Saturday in Socorro.
