“George found some of my stuff scattered on the floor. All this on this street here. He got in touch with the contact numbers there.

“I’m so grateful, I’m so grateful. It just goes to show that when some people do things that aren’t very nice, you get people in this world who are more than nice.

The hitmaker added that he wanted to give George something as a thank you for his kindness.

Last week it was reported that Peter did not recall an alleged one-night stand with Rebekah Vardy and was discussing with lawyers how to prevent his complaint from being repeated – with his jibing that he is “hung like a chipolata”.

During Wagatha Christie’s libel trial at the High Court this month, Rebekah was asked about her interview in which she claimed she had a date with the former pop star in 2001.

Peter is upset that the claims, made in News Of The World in 2004, have resurfaced and he received no warning they would be detailed in Ms Vardy’s court battle with fellow Wag Coleen Rooney.

Sources say the father-of-four has consulted with lawyers as he has no recollection of a night of romance with Rebekah, 40, at a hotel in Buckinghamshire.

“Pete doesn’t remember meeting her, no matter what else,” an insider said. “At the time of the article, he was younger, he had no children and it didn’t matter that much.
