“According to PSC Chief Executive Officer Simon Rotich, interested applicants now have seven days to apply for the positions expected to become vacant after the August 9, 2022 general election,” the statement read in part.
In early September 2022, PSC invited applications for the 44 Chief Secretary slots whose successful applicants will be forwarded to President William Ruto.
The appointed PS will report directly to the cabinet secretaries, selected by Ruto and vetted by parliament.
One of the roles that the PSs will fulfill will be the accounting and competent officials of their state departments.
They will also implement government policies and strategic plans that are essential to shape Ruto’s legacy.
How to apply?
Each application must be accompanied by a detailed curriculum vitae. Copies of relevant academic and professional certificates and transcripts, national ID card or passport, testimonials and other relevant supporting documents are also required.
“Scanned copies of these documents must accompany an online application,” PSC said.
It also advised on applications that letters that are physically delivered should be marked ‘Application for the position of Chief Secretary’.
“Manual applications must be hand delivered to the Secretary/CEO’s office on the 4th floor of the Commission House, on Harambee Avenue,” the post added.
A list of successful candidates will be published in the print media.
