Record-breaking heat grips parts of the continental US
High temperatures will range from the 90s to the low 100s of the lower and central plains and across the Southeast.
A number of record daytime temperatures will be broken on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Hurricane Fiona has grown into a severe Category 3 storm.

As the storm now moves north of Puerto Rico and across the Bahamas, it is still drawing moisture behind it, and rain showers can be expected for Puerto Rico through Wednesday morning.
Flood advisories for the US territory will remain in effect until Tuesday evening.

The storm will stay well off the US coast, but choppy seas and rip currents will be seen along the east coast beaches.
